A Letter To Every YouTuber I've Ever Loved

Just because I don't know you personally doesn't mean you didn't impact my life

Dear YouTuber,

Hi, I'm a big fan, or probably used to be, but either way, I still love you. Whether I stopped watching you in 2014 or just started watching you in 2016, you have impacted my life in some way.

I know it's lame, saying that you, a successful semi-famous person who can't tell the difference between me and the next fan, changed my life, but you truly did. I've been watching YouTube since 2013, and I've watched a lot of YouTubers since then. Even though each of you did not individually change me into the person I am today, you had an impact in the overall process.

People like Zoella introduced me to my passion for makeup, people like Kian and Jc, who I've loved since the beginning and still do, showed me true friendship and taught me to live a little more freely. People like David, Liza, Scotty, Zane, and the rest of that crazy group taught me how to make really bad jokes and that I shouldn't care what others think. Connor Franta taught me to stay calm, and Andrew Lowe gave me the dry humor I have to this day. You all changed me and showed me new things and are helping me get through my hard teenage years. Watching your videos lets me get away for a bit.

Of course, if I were to sit here and tell each of you how you have helped me, I would be writing an essay. Just know that even though YouTube is "so 2015," I will continue to endlessly love and support you all until the day you say your final goodbye, because you all bring the positivity I need into my life. When times were rough, I came to your videos; when I had a great day, I came to your videos, no matter what. At the end of the day, I don't care how lame I sound. I know it's weird to imagine that some 20-year-olds have basically shaped me into who I am, but put yourself in my shoes as a 12-year-old with no guidance back in 2013, finding all these wonderful people who always said "I love you!" even if they didn't know the little girl watching from her phone screen was saying "I love you too."

Sincerely,

The slightly older girl still saying "I love you too"

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
