A Letter To Donald And Hillary: We're Concerned

Political views aside, let's talk about a few cold, hard (and advertised) facts.

A Letter To Donald And Hillary: We're Concerned
The Atlantic

To our dearest Mr. Donald Trump and Mrs. Hillary Clinton:

It's looking like one of you is going to be our president soon. Let's put all political views aside, all rumors, all concepts and opinions. Let's really talk about who y'all are as people or at least who you present yourselves to be. Because, unfortunately for you two, the moment you become president does not transform your lifestyle and personality and make you suddenly presidential.

Now when you two think of being elected as president, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Winning against your opponent? Free publicity? Perhaps some sort of validation for your own self-worth? These are (surprise!) not what you should be focussing on.

As an American, I want to be proud of my country and especially who we put on a golden platter to represent us. Currently I'm not thrilled with the idea of either of you being that idyllic citizen. I want a strong, confident, caring, honest, upstanding, kind, and open-minded person to be someone that we are going to entrust our country to. A confident person doesn't need to make fun of others. An honest person doesn't need to defend themselves. I would like to say that either one of you could claim all of these attributes, but I like to be an honest person as well.

First off, I'd like to be the first to say, "Are you kidding me?" Not only are you postingthe lowest blow you can pull out of your abnormally large bag of crude remarks, but then you delete the post because you think that will magically make it all a little less horrible.

Ah, and Hillary, sweety, we understand why you would want to get back at him, but there are other ways to do that than making an entire website to make fun of the things your opponent has said. I mean, there has got to be a better way to spend your time... I hope?

Congratulations, you both have collected your honorary Teenage Internet Troll stamp!! Apparently there is not an age limit for this award.

We are considering you for president and you're cyberbullying some guy for obviously irrelevant reasons. Donald.

Now you two, I know that this is only your media depiction. And that is what really worries me. If you can't even portray the upstanding citizen that I described earlier, then we have a big problem. At this point I can't tell either of you who I prefer, but I can say one thing. I want an honorable president that's not going to make a fool out of the country that so many have laid their lives down for.

Sincerely,

A Very Concerned American Citizen

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
