I know I'm not alone in feeling this way.

If you are looking for a political article go ahead and skip past this one. I am completely and fully aware of the backlash and comments that this article may bring on me. That's fine. I still am going to write about this topic. I do not apologize if this is from a point of view that is different than yours and I do not apologize if you disagree. This is the opinion of one student. This entire article may come across as an oxymoron but that is exactly how I feel.

I quite honestly am scared, yet I have been for a while. Let's skip the BS and be honest that the world isn't what it was. We all know that by now and it isn't worth the rabbit trail it leads down at this point. People hardheartedly joke that you can't go anywhere without giving a consistent glance over your shoulder. This scares me. In a world like this you are going to allow guns on campus.

They are going to be allowed in classrooms and residence halls. Keep in mind some of these residence halls have multiple people to one large room. Anyone at any point could have access to that weapon. You'll keep it locked up when it's not on your person? How are you going to remember to do that when you can't even seem to remember to turn in an assignment, or to grab your keys? Hell half the time you don't even remember to lock your door...but you'll remember to lock up your gun?

Some argue that we will be safer because we won't have to wait for an emergency responder. I have to say how dare you. How dare you put that on a student. You expect him to harm or end the life of someone who is causing danger? What about what that would do to them? Can you imagine being a college aged student and killing someone for any reason? And to have that on your hands for the rest of your life? How dare you put that pressure on someone. Why should they have to take an action that could leave them suffering for years?

My entire body is overcome by panic and anxiety at the idea of putting guns on campus. Don't for a second think that I am someone who is scared of guns. I am not and I do believe in them. I believe that people kill people not guns and that is probably what paralyzes me with fear. You are giving these people an opportunity. You are giving them access and an open field.

The main thing I have heard about this is that it is for our safety and to give us more protection. That any dangerous situation can be over and done with in a matter of seconds. So I guess my biggest trouble and fear is also my biggest question: Why do I feel so much more in the middle of harm's way? Why do I feel so unsafe?

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
