Many of you know Christina Grimmie as the third place contestant from 'The Voice' who stunned all the judges with her powerful belting or as zeldaxlove64 on YouTube where she covered popular music and eventually released her own singles racking up millions of subscribers. I remember watching her cover of "Just a Dream" by Nelly and fell in love instantly. Her passion shined through her voice and inspired me to post my own music covers, and I'm positive I'm not the only one she's inspired.

On Friday, June 10th, the amazing human being was taken away from us, but Heaven gained an angel. The 22 year old was shot by a 27 year old man during a meet and greet after what would be her last performance ever. He shot himself shortly after.

Dear Kevin James Loibl,

I know that you will never read this. And I can't believe I'm writing this. I never got the chance to meet her or attend one of her concerts, and I never will because of you. But even without meeting her, her genuineness is visible through her videos, other social media accounts, and what fans and celebrities say about her. But my question is this: Why?

Why did you feel the need to take such rare, raw talent away from this world? Why did you kill a person so innocent and faithful? Why must you have traveled two hours just to get up in front of her fans to for them to see their idol fall to the ground. She welcomed you and opened her arms as you stepped towards her and pulled out your gun shooting her and sending the entire room full of fans into chaos.

Since you're gone as well, investigation is limited, and we can only guess what your motives were. Were you jealous? Were you trying to send a message to the country about gun control? Were you an old acquaintance? Did you want yourself to be remembered (in this case, in a negative way)? Did you want to hurt her friends and family? Did you want to prove that heroes without capes exist (Mark Grimmie, her brother who tackled you in hopes that you would not harm anyone else)?

Whatever your reasoning was, I cannot express how saddened I am. And I can only imagine what her friends, family, and those who had a personal connection with her are going through. I send all my prayers and support to those affected by her death. I want you to know that whatever your twisted intention was, no matter how much you wanted to cause pain, this event united friends, families and fans all over the world. She is in much better hands now, and the world is a much better place without you.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
