A Letter to the Man that Became my Best Friend

Hi there (you know who you are),

I just want to stop by and let you know how much of a difference you've made in my life. You and I became friends last spring. Certain things went down and we weren't able to be as close as we once were, but I always knew you'd be there for me. We started becoming close again after both going through some extremely rough patches. The funny thing was, I never even had to ask for your help or your love; it just happened.

You're my best friend, but you're so much more than that. You're the person I vent to whenever I have a tough day. You're the person that I know will always walk to me with open arms. You're the person that would drop anything in a second just to see me smile, even if it's for a split second. You're my number one supporter in anything I do. You are the biggest gentlemen and always show me the utmost respect. Most importantly, you show me and everyone around you what it's like to have a truly serving heart and spread God's love. You amaze me every day with the man you are, and I can't wait to see the man you will grow to be.

All this goes to say, thank you. Thank you for being the person I can always turn to, both in good times and in bad. Thank you for taking me to countless football games and band competitions and sharing your love of teaching and music with me. Thank you for loving my dog. Thank you for all the cheeseburgers, drinks, and that one box of brownie mix (that didn't go so well). Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being my best friend. You've changed my life forever.

Love,

Your Best Friend

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
