Why You're The Best Friend I'll Ever Have
Emma Backes

Dear Best Friend,

There are a million things that I am thankful for when I think of you. Through the constant memories to always knowing that you are there for me, I couldn't be more blessed having someone so thoughtful and wonderful in my life. You are my best friend no matter what, and wow I am lucky to say the least.

For years I was able to have you right by my side, experiencing life with me every second of the way. I didn't fully appreciate your presence, and didn't realize how great I really had it until I left for college away from our hometown. No matter how many days we've went through without talking, I am glad to say that we have never grown apart. If anything, we've become even better friends.

I miss you every day I can't be around you, and it hurts so much to say our goodbyes. You have been a huge part of my life and without our friendship, I don't know where I would be. Through your encouragement, generosity, and love, you have constantly shown that you will take care of me whenever I need it. Most of all, with you, I have learned to be a better person, and treat others better than myself. I am so glad to have found a best friend that doubles as a role model to me.

Best friend: you are beautiful, talented, courageous, loving, selfless, and wise. You are loved by so many people, and you have impacted so many different lives (especially mine). I know that sometimes you may not see how much beauty you truly have, but I guarantee that you are one of the most amazing people I have ever had the chance of meeting. I know I can't say these things every day to you, but I hope that you truly see that you are worthy to be loved, and that you are beautiful and strong. NEVER FORGET THAT.

It has truly been an honor to be your best friend. I hope that I am as great to you as you are to me (might be impossible, but I try, I promise). Thanks for staying up late watching TV and going out with me. Thank you for letting me be apart of your family and constantly having me pretend I'm your sister. And thank you especially for all the food you've bought me over the years because we both know, food is the way to my heart. Yes, life has changed for the both of us in so many ways, but the bond we have will never let go. You are my soul sister and obviously my best friend. Although our "adult lives" may make it difficult for us to see each other as often, you are with me in my heart, always. As I am to you.

Thank you for being you. I love you so very much.

Love,

Your best friend

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
