"A mother is the truest friend we have when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts." - Washington Irving

Dear mom,

There aren't very many words that can truly describe or represent the meaning you have in my life. What can you honestly say to the person that has given you the world when you deserved it the least? You have picked me up at my lowest. You have kissed my bruises. You have prepared me for the world. You have taught me how to be a strong woman, but I don't think I can ever be as strong as you. You could carry the world on your shoulders without breaking a sweat.

You are every meaning of the word mother. You are comfort when I need it the most. You are my support when I feel that everything else is against me. You are instant healing when I am sick. You have all the answers to my problems. You are my role model and biggest inspiration. There are so many lessons that you have taught me. I can only hope to be half of the mother that you are sometime in my life.

You are the most beautiful person I have ever seen and, because of you, I have learned that beauty is not only skin deep. You have taught me that no boy is worth my tears unless they're from happiness and although I might be hurting in the moment, the pain in not permanent. You have given me motivation to conquer my trials. You have instilled upon me the comfort of knowing that I am never alone; you're only a phone call away.

I have been blessed with not only an amazing mother, but a best friend. You have never betrayed me. I can trust you with any secret that I may be carrying and you will hide it with a lock and key. We may argue and I might say things that I don't mean, but you have constant forgiveness. You have a joke when I need a laugh. You are a therapist when I need to get something off of my chest. You are my whole world wrapped up in one.

I feel like I could tell you I love you a million times and it would never be enough. No matter what I do, I will never be able to repay you for everything that you have done or given me in my life. Even though you have taught me to be strong, I don't think I will ever be strong enough to face the world without you.

Thank you for always being there for me and forgiving me when I didn't deserve it. Thank you for loving me unconditionally. Thank you for being my best friend.

I love you always,

Your daughter

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.
