The 2016 Presidential Election is just around the corner, and the importance of getting out and voting has never been more urgent. Voting is vital in exercising your contribution and belief towards something worth achieving. However, many Americans do not realize that and have not been voting in primary and national elections in recent years which in result has succumbed to a lower voter turnout.
We've come so far in this country by standing up for what we believe in. It's our free given right to speak and choose freely, yet we choose to pass up the opportunity of having our voices heard. What difference will that make? Did we forget the point of which America was founded upon? We have the freedom of different parties and different opinions. In other countries, people do not have the same power as we were given. There are higher powers that oppress their citizens by taking away their freedom to express what ideas they may have in regards to governing their own country. We take that for granted here. This nation may be divided among many political parties, with some outweighing others, but that should not stop you from using your vote. Your vote matters. Your vote is crucial in making a difference.
Still, many people are convinced their vote won't make a change, but they are so wrong! If you refuse or simply do not put in the effort and energy to get to where you want to be, you will never get there! Even if others don't agree with your ideas or philosophies, stay open and solution oriented.
Voting is one of the few things we have that belongs to us. That is something we should be taking advantage of. Of course, voting seems to get harder, and it's especially difficult this year having to decide between two candidates we hate the least, but it's strongly encouraged to choose the one who's the best fit to lead our country.
So do some research and evaluate who you want to vote for. This year the vote comes down to Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump. Both candidates have their faults but they also have their achievements so vote for who best fits your standards and coincides with your personal beliefs.
