Let's Talk Turkey: Thanksgiving

It shouldn’t take a holiday to remind us to love, laugh, and be appreciative for what life has to bring.

Let's Talk Turkey: Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving… the holiday of food. You have turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and whip cream with a little bit of pumpkin pie. It’s all the goods to make a perfectly round “food baby”.

Thanksgiving… a time of being thankful. You gather around with friends, family, coworkers, and everyone who means the most to you. It’s a time to give thanks to those loved ones you have put up with your crazy little tush for as long as they have. It’s a time to be thankful for all they have done and will do.

Thanksgiving… a feeling of love. There’s something about being in a cozy home around all the people you care for. During this time of year, you can feel the love seeping from the walls of the department stores, sidewalks, and neighborhoods laying the groundwork for Christmas.

So with that said, let me pose a question. Why does it take until the holidays to eat good food, be thankful, and love on our favorite people? To me, every day is a chance to be thankful for all you have and all you will have. It shouldn’t take a holiday to remind us to love, laugh, and be appreciative for what life has to bring. So love on people, be happy, feel joy, and be thankful not only during Thanksgiving but all the time. You never know how much longer you have to be thankful.

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
