Urban Matter

It is finally that time of the year. The time when the air is cool and crisp, the leaves start falling and you get to scare the absolute poop out of people. It's Halloween time my friends, and boy is this year a scary one. So I'm here as your guide to the top Halloween costumes you're bound to see, or be, this Halloween.

1. Harley Quinn

There's no doubt about it that this Halloween you'll be seeing a lot of this gone crazy psychiatrist. Since the movie Suicide Squad hit theaters Harley has seemingly become every girl's spirit animal. Yikes, maybe they should delve more into the character's comic history before claiming to be just like Harley.

2. Eleven

Don't you just love this Eggo eating killer, badass little girl? If you haven't binge watched Stranger Things on Netflix, you're missing out. Who wouldn't want to be able to make every bully pee their pants?

3. A Clown

After all that's going on in the US you're bound to see someone dressed up as a clown this year. Possibly not only on Halloween. The clown epidemic is real people.

4. The Cast of Hamilton

Why not grab a group of friends and throw it back to 1776? The hit musical Hamilton has stolen the hearts of millions and is awesome, wow! Grab some friends and join the revolution as Alexander Hamilton, the Schuyler Sisters, and more. Work!'

5. Deadpool

Who doesn't love Deadpool? This crude, foul mouthed, anti hero came to our screens last Valentine's Day and stole our hearts ever since.

6. Meredith Grey

Nope, it isn't 2005. Yup Grey's Anatomy is still on with new seasons which makes it still culturally relevant (and amazingly awesome). Find some characters who aren't dead and dress up as your favorite surgeons of Grey Sloan Memorial!

7. Harambe

Too soon? Let me tell you how many people told me they were going to go as Harambe. Too many.

8. Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump

Because what's scarier then the two people who could end up as President of the United States? Terrifying.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

winter

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
