We now have someone who doesn’t believe in Global Warming as our EPA leader.
That is terrifying.
It is not only terrifying for us, as humans, but it’s terrifying for animals, for plants, for air, for basically any organism.
I know, I know, you’re probably really sick of hearing all about politics. Chances are you’re tired of reading my articles because at this point 90% of them are about something to do with politics or policy changes.
But here’s the thing.
If you refuse to education yourself. If you refuse to stay informed. If you refuse to listen to either side. Then you are just as bad as the policymakers who are making decisions you do not like.
If you stay informed, then you will make a difference. It’s literally that simple.
Today, let’s talk about the animals.
We’ve really screwed up. We’ve royally made a mess of things and I’m not talking about the last eight weeks.
I mean over a long period of history, we have really ruined things for animals and for ourselves. We have been cruel and careless in how we treat the world around us. We have only thought of ourselves and our own personal advancements. It’s ridiculous.
There are so many way’s that we have messed up. But there are also so many ways’ that we can try to right the wrong, fix the problems and move forward. Will things ever go back to the way they were? No. But we can reframe the future so that all living creatures can survive.
The joke about how our kids won’t get to see polar bears is no longer a joke, it’s a reality. Certain species of big cats are going extinct. Smaller mammals are already gone. Ocean life is rapidly depleting and it’s because of our foolish choices.
So how can we help? What could we possibly do?
Let’s cut back on the use of plastics. I get that you don’t like to drink water from the facet, but maybe invest $15 in getting a water bottle that has a filter in it so that you can use the tap but don’t have to taste it.
Let’s cut back on red meat. I know! We all love a burger, but seriously, we eat way too much of it. If everyone cut back a bit, it would massively help our atmosphere and the well-being of the animals.
Research where your food comes from. No one is asking you to go vegan, but do know whether your food is sustainably grown, and what sort of hormones they use. That stuff isn’t good for them, and it definitely isn’t good for you.
Consider recycling.
Roll your windows down instead of pumping the air.
Every action you take to help the Earth helps the animals. It’s two-fold!
And finally,
Be kind.
Be kind.
Be kind.
