Okay, what is going on? The Internet went nuts after Victoria Beckham posted a picture kiss her 5-year-old daughter, Harper, on the lips.
What do you see here? I see a mother kissing her child on the lips. What do you see?
People have been commenting about how this affection between mother and daughter is and example of pedophilia. Really? One user said, "Eww sorry I'm old fashioned and it looks like they are making out." Again, really? I can enlarge the picture and tell you that this kiss is not a "passionate kiss" like another user described in the comments. Even social etiquette expert Liz Brewer told the BCC that she found the photo “uncomfortable.” My question is, why?
Others have commented and said "I see a mom and a daughter kissing." That's it. They didn't add anything else. Why must an act of love or affection must be criticize this way? And calling them "lesbians?" They are mother and daughter! How does anyone think that is a factor? I think people are sick for thinking it was anything other than a display of motherly affection and sexualizing a mother-daughter relationship? I mean, come on! What is the world coming to?
Parents have showed their support for Victoria:
The hashtags #kissyourkids and #kissyourchildren started to trend in Instagram, Twitter and other social media networks.
This shouldn't be sexualized at all. Calling a mother and her daughter lesbians has nothing to do with the fact that this is innocent, pure, maternal love. Victoria is married and has a wonderful family who is supporting her now due to this. She loves her family and she is certainly NOT making out with her daughter.
If you ask me. I see love, not "lesbians," or a "pedophile." If anyone who kisses their kids on the lips has being pointed out as one of the mentioned, please, love your kids and shut off the ignorance. Love is love is love. Love is not a kiss, money, sex or power. Don't shame Victoria and Harper Beckham for showing mother-daughter affection. Maybe try to change your perspective towards this, because there is nothing to sexualize or corrupt in this lovely picture.
