Let's Have A Real Conversation

I want us to be foolishly open instead of selfishly guarded.

Let’s truly get lost in our conversations.

I’m the type of person that loves to talk about things people are for some reason or another terrified to talk about. Just to name a few, these could be mental health, pain, insecurities, religion, and politics. I look forward to those conversations that are worth the time and deeper than merely talking about your day, work, or the most popular topic: the weather. Real life events are what keep everything interesting in a conversation. Lately, we just don’t have enough of those meaningful conversations. It could be that you aren’t much of a person that enjoys sharing, or maybe the right friends don’t surround you. I honestly think if you aren’t having those meaningful conversations those late night heart to hearts than you really are missing out on something special.

Let’s talk about your life, how you became the person you are today, how one struggle got you to where you are, and how this one special thing about you sets you apart from the rest. I want to know more than just the simplistic fact so come on tell me why you love wearing black, tell me why you don’t want to move back home, tell me about how he/she changed your life, and tell me about that one time when you completely surprised yourself. I want to hear it all from your first broken heart to where you stand now, and what scares you to what makes you the happiest. I want to get to know you. So, tell me everything.

Don’t worry though I won’t let you do all the talking alone. I’ll tell you why I’m always so blunt, why I like to read those cliché self-help books, why he is the one always on my mind, or why it took me so long to actually search for myself. I’ll tell you about it all.

Because I want more meaningful relationships and friendships that will carry on throughout the years. I want to be able to get to know who you really are. I don’t want you to be just another face that passes on through my life. I want to be able to have those conversations that you don’t just have with everyone else. I don’t want any what ifs or maybes between us. I want us to say it all, to talk so openly, to let it all out so we can be free and leave no room for questions or later regrets.

I don’t want to know you through your social media. I want to know you through your eyes, through your voice, and through your heart. I want us to be foolishly open instead of selfishly guarded.

Let’s talk about sadness and happiness. Let’s laugh and cry. Let’s be so wise but also so silly. Let’s just talk. Let’s communicate. Let’s be ourselves.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
