We all have that one friend that has been in a relationship with their boyfriend forever and just can't help but saying that they both are "goals" in what we are looking for to have in a relationship of our own.

Society today idolizes the idea of young women being in a relationship. This idea is conveyed in the music we listen to, the social media posts, and the TV shows/movies that are binge-worthy to watch.

Striving to have someone that loves you is not healthy for young women, and honestly being single is the best time in your life because it is a time for you to grow into the person you are meant to be.

1. It is a time for you to spend with the Lord

This is such a beneficial time to devote all your love in the Lord and seeing how he will use your time of being single to glorify him.

2. Working on what might have been issues in your past relationship

Every relationship is a learning experience and one that you can grow from. In your time of being single, you are able to reflect on how you want to be for your partner and future spouse

3. Exploring your interests

This is a time to find out who you are and what makes you happy. Try new things with your friends and make memories out of it!

4. Spending quality time with family and friends

These are the people in your life that will always be there for you, so build the relationship since you don't have anyone else to worry about.

5. Loving yourself

A relationship will not work when you are unable to take care of yourself. You can't love somebody if you are not loving yourself.

6.  Stress free

There is no pressure to dress a certain way to impress someone.

7. Traveling to where ever you want

Being able to travel where you have always wanted to and spending it with family or friends.

8. Gaining your independence

Sometimes in a relationship, your voice might become lost, so by being single you are able to experience life on your own. This is important to know what you believe in when you are in your next relationship.

9. Devoting your time to school, work and other responsibilities

You have all the time in the world to do what is important in your life. You are on your own schedule and have no one else's responsibilities to incorporate in your life.

10. Having the freedom to eat what you want

No guilt at all to eat some cake or ice cream just because you want to.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Feeling Lost During Syllabus Week? You're Not Alone!

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
