"There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them." 1 Corinthians 12:4

Have you ever felt like you have nothing to bring to the table? Or have you ever thought that you don't have any talents or gifts to use in this world? I think we have all felt like that at some point in our lives, but the truth is, all of those things are lies. They are lies the enemy tells us to keep us in a funk and keep us from using those gifts and talents we have.

We all have gifts and talents that God specifically picked out for us. He gives us these gifts and talents to glorify him and use them in the world. It's important to try not to compare your gifts and talents to the gifts and talents of others. This is a hard thing to do, especially today when all we really do is compare ourselves to other people, but it is important to remind yourself that your gifts and talents are what make you unique.

It's also important for us to utilize those gifts and talents. Once you realize what your talent is, use it. Use it to bring joy and happiness to the world, but most importantly, use it to glorify the one that blessed you with it. Let your light shine! The light represents the gifts and talents that you have and you should let it shine and not hide it from the world. No one can take that light away from you.

"There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work." 1 Corinthians 12:6

Even though you may not realize it, God is working through your gifts and talents. When you use your gifts and talents, you never know who you are touching and who God is touching through you. Just because your gifts and talents don't look like someone else's, your talents are still important and they matter.

So, what are your gifts and talents? How are you going to let your light shine?

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
