"No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite." — Nelson Mandela
I don't care if you're white or black. Gay or straight. Have tattoos or no tattoos. Have a bunch of piercings or just a few simple ones. Have gone to college or not gone to college. Republican or Democrat. If you voted for Trump or for Hillary Clinton. Have green hair or natural hair. Tall or short. Thin or curvy. Christian or some other religion. I simply do not care. Why, you ask? Because it is not my place to judge others. It is that simple.
I, as a human here on earth, was not put here to judge others. I was not put here to decide if tattoos or piercings make you a bad person. I wasn't put here to decide if certain political opinions are wrong or right. I was put here to love others and to help. I'm not saying I've never been judgmental in my entire life, because I have at some points. I am human, I make mistakes. Overall, though, I love. I love those who are different than me, I think it is very important to be kind, and it's rewarding to help others. People are people and God loves us all.
Now, I believe in God. I haven't read the whole Bible, but I do know the content it speaks. I have my own set of morals and beliefs. Everyone does. But just because my views on certain things are different from someone else's doesn't mean I'm going to judge that person. Just because I choose a different path because of my own personal preferences, doesn't mean I'm going to shun someone for not walking the same path as me. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, morals, and beliefs. Who am I to tell someone that they're wrong? Yes, I am a child of God. I have been ever since I was born and that will not change. I will spread the word of Him to those who want to listen but to those that don't, instead of getting infuriated and mad at them, I want to listen to their take on things. I want to open my mind to different religions and view points. Even if I don't agree, I'm still going to respect how others feel. Even on days when it's hard to do, I'm going to respect the ideas of others because of one simple statement. God wants me to love others. He didn't create me to tell others what they're doing is wrong. He didn't create me to be judgmental. That is His job.
To say I don't care is a bold statement. I'm not saying I don't care about anything at all. I say I don't care in the sense that I don't care what others are doing with their own life. As long as they aren't hurting me or affecting my life in a negative way, then by all means, I want them to do what they want.
There are many things I don't even look at anymore. I don't look at tattoos or piercings. I don't look at if you're curvy or thin. I don't worry about if you're gay or straight. I don't see skin colors anymore. I don't worry about if you've gone to college or not. I could not care less if you're a Republican or a Democrat. I don't really care who the heck you voted for in the past election dealing with Hillary and Trump.
What I do look at is: are you nice to me? Are you nice to others? Are you loving to your family? Do you respect the ideas and values of those around you? Are you hard working? Are you a genuine, nice person? Are you making something of yourself? Are you helping to influence people in a positive way? Do you want to change the world someday and help it in a positive way?
People are allowed to have their own opinions and live their life the way that they want to. No one is going to change anyone else's mind. Opinions are not wrong and they are not right. That is why they are opinions. There are some things that people do and say that I personally would not choose for myself, but if it floats their boat then that's fine.
I think, as people, we should be more concerned with how people act and treat each other rather than being concerned with sexual preferences, political party choices, and the color of one's skin. Everyone bleeds the same color and everyone has feelings. Positivity and kindness go a lot farther than tearing people down and making them feel horrible.
There is a quote that I want to leave with everyone as I conclude this article:
"Ah, kindness. What a simple way to tell another struggling soul that there is love to be found in this world."
Remember this every day. Be humble, be kind, and most importantly be loving. At the end of the day, God is always going to be in charge. Serve Him by loving those around you and be compassionate and open to those that you find different. Different shouldn't scare people or make them hateful. Different should encourage listening ears and open mindsets. Different should be a chance to learn.
"Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive others, and you will be forgiven. Give, and you will receive." — Luke 6:32
