5 Fortunate Things We Can Learn From 'A Series Of Unfortunate Events'

In This Article:

"A Series of Unfortunate Events" first aired on Netflix in 2017, and the tragedy finally came to a fortunate end on the beginning of 2019. While Lemony Snicket says that this is not a happy story, there is always some lessons that we can learn from it.

Spoiler Warning!

Tragedy can bring people closer

Remember when the siblings met the Quagmires and they were one of the first friends that they ever made at the academy? I mean they all went through some serious loss with their families, so of course, they would grow close and want to help each other out.

Sometimes the kids are smarter than the adults

Let's face it, most of the adults on the show were clueless about what was going on. The Baudelaires tried so many times to tell the adults that Count Olaf was nearby, but they were oblivious to that fact. So basically the lesson was is that sometimes kids are smarter than adults.

Trust your instincts

Whenever they ended up in a situation, Violet often invented something to help her and her siblings out. She always trusted that the invention would work no matter what, and it always did. So if you ever doubt yourself trust yourself you can be right once in a while.

There is always a chance of redemption

Remember Count Olaf's troupe? I was starting to think that there was some good in them and that they were basically just along for the ride. Especially the Hook-Handed Man Fernald. I knew he would eventually turn against Count Olaf when he helped Sunny and he found his sister. Also, the fact that his troupe was able to walk away when faced with peer pressure shows that you can stand up for what is right. They were also able to become actors in their own right without any help from Count Olaf.

As long as you have each other, you can do anything

The Baudelaire's had faced a lot of trauma throughout the series. They always managed to get through it because they had each other. They had each other's skills to help them get through everything one common thing in every episode was the fact that with everything they faced they got closer with everything.

While you may be tempted to just look away, don't look away. There is a lot you can learn from this show. There is a little bit of hope in this show even though it may not seem like it there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.

Girl With Bleached Hair
Tumblr

I've been a bleach blonde for over a year now, and let me tell you, it is a lifestyle. More hair appointments, longer showers, and special shampoo. But it is totally worth it!

1. Mentally preparing yourself to convince your hair dresser that white is the way to go.

2. Or the anxiety of what could go wrong by bleaching your hair at home.

3. You could either become a ginger

4. Or a pixie

5. The face you make in the mirror when you take off your towel to unveil the perfect white strands.

6. Taking a million selfies the day you bleached it, because you know your roots will be back in literally 2 days.

7. Having to get bangs or a big chop because your hair is so damaged.

8. Having orange highlights in between touch-ups.

9. Going out for a drink afterwards to debut your updated look.

Despite the struggles, you love your platinum blonde hair! You make sure Instagram knows it, too. You don't need a filter, because the color is flawless by itself!

I've been at this college thing for almost three and a half years, and while I thought that high school was truly the lowest point of my existence, I'm beginning to realize that it was a walk in the park. Like, I miss the days when the biggest white lie I told my parents was my made up excuse about being late for fourth period. These days, the white lies are a tad more complex, and as ashamed as I am to admit it, I've definitely told a few of these.
