Within the past couple of months, I have accomplished some pretty important goals for my life. I graduated college and turned 23 years old. Some may look at 23 as just another irrelevant age. People only give credit to the 21st year (which was awesome), but I graduated college and officially began the rest of my life at 23 years old; it's a good year for me. Because of these recent life events, I feel the need to share with you all some lessons I've learned in my time here on God's green earth. So get ready, because I'm about to drop some knowledge on y'all.

1. Nobody like's you when you're 23... false.

This just isn't true. After 23 years on this earth, I know even when I feel like I have no one, at least I have God. God likes you when you're 23. Also probably lots of other people like you too...so don't worry about that.

2. Plenty of people will like you, but that doesn't mean everyone else has to.

This took me a very long time to learn. I consider myself a sweet and caring person, so I never understood why people I met would choose not to like me. I would be so upset, thinking "What did I do? Why aren't they my friend?" The truth is they don't have to like me, to be honest, they don't even have to have a good reason not to like me. Learning this was one of those "truth hurts" moments of my life. But after I learned it, I also learned to relax, and not get bent out of shape when people weren't as friendly as I wanted them to be.

3. College is hard, but leaving is harder.

This lesson is so important to me. Don't waste your time in college. By that I mean don't spend all your time stressed out in your dorm room worried about classes and homework. Have a good time, make friends, join organizations. To me, I learned more in my college experience than I did in my classes.

4. Don't give up on love.

People all too often get upset when something doesn't work out and they become bitter. It's not worth getting angry over a love that wasn't supposed to work out. Because one day you'll meet the person you love and it will work out and you will understand why it didn't before.

5. "If you a lame, that's a shame you can't hang with us." - Miley Cyrus

This lyric from the song "23" (see what I did there?) is a great lesson. Don't waste your time with people who are negative and lame. Surround yourself with people who are fun and positive.

6. Don't EVER take your loved ones for granted.

This is an important life lesson. Don't let anyone or anything take you away from the people who care about you the most. God, your family, friends and significant others are the people who love you the most, don't take these people for granted, don't ever forget their worth, and their importance in your life. Don't ever forget that.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
