If you have never watched Rent, I highly recommend that you do. It tells the story of struggling artists in NY, the show drops some valuable life lessons along with teaching viewers about love, addiction, sexuality, freedom, and the importance of friendship. However, it also depicts each individual character's personality with a deeper insight. Viewers can learn many things from each character, personally, I believe that they learn more from Mimi. Bold, and free-spirited Mimi isn't Afraid to put herself out there nor does she let the past or future stop her, and Although she's sexy and tough, her friends know that she's sweet, and would do anything for them. She's a survivor and would do anything it takes to get by while also being a joy to be around. Her character is just so wonderful you can't help but to love her.
There are six major lessons that I have personally learned through Mimi myself. The first being that the world doesn't stop just because you go through hell. everyone fights their own battles with life it's just all in the mindset and whether or not you choose to learn from it and come out stronger. Second, Don't hold onto the past or dwell on the future... although it may be hard, let go and move on and don't worry too much about the future because we can't control our own destiny. The third lesson I learned is, there is no shame in asking a man out. The worst thing that could happen is that he'd say no if he says no he wants something else and nothing is wrong with you. The fourth lesson NEVER take loved ones for granted. You never know what tomorrow brings and you never really know what you have till its gone. Know what you have once you have it and never let go, and ALWAYS remind those you care about that you love them.
The fifth lesson I learned is live in the moment and live everyday like it's your last. " forget regret or life is yours to miss".
The sixth and final lesson I learned is fighting for love. Love knows no limits, however, if you don't want it enough you don't deserve it .If anything, the important things are worth fighting for.
