Ben Wyatt and Leslie Knope have by far become one of my favorite TV couples. If I am being honest, I like to pretend they are together in real life, but who doesn't? While their love may have been scripted, the lessons they taught us go well beyond the screen.

1. The right person will be worth it.

Every relationship has it's own challenges. Just making the choice to take the step to begin a relationship can be terrifying, but the right person will never leave a doubt in your mind. It will be not be without a few hurdles, but that person will have always have your back.

2. They totally embraced each other's weird.

We all have a little weird in us. It feels so overwhelming wonderful when we find someone who embraces our weird, and maybe even ends up liking it themselves. Remember when Leslie got Ben the throne from Game of Thrones, or when Ben had the otter from Leslie's dream made for her?

3. "I love you and I like you."

Their vows were so simple and so perfect. Leslie and Ben epitomized the ideal of being best friends and lovers. They loved each other, but they also liked each other. They never stopped having fun with each other.

4. They support each other.

No matter the goal, and no matter where it took them, Leslie and Ben pushed each other to be better. We all need someone who reminds us how strong and able we are. They never stopped believing in one another.

5. They were partners.

They were always equals in the relationship, and that is beautiful.
