The show Friends is easily high up there on the list of great comedy shows of all time. Personally, there is not an episode I find myself not laughing. Throughout the ten years of watching Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler and Ross live life, they have taught us numerous lessons.

1. "We were on a break" is never an excuse.

2. Remember, it's not that common, it doesn't happen to every guy and it is a big deal.

5. For more space in bed, use the "hug and roll".

6. You can do a lot with just cups and ice.

12. Never let a monkey near a TV remote.

13. Always read make-up letters all the way through, even if they are 18 pages front and back.

14. You should leave your synth keyboard in the 80s where it belongs.

15. A nap with your best friend could end up being the greatest nap you have ever had.

16. Don't let a child know they adopted if you are not their guardian.

17. Meat is not an ingredient in a trifle.

18. Your first name is not your family name.

22. Eating too much meat can cause the 'meat sweats'.

23. Regina Falange and Ken Adams are great fake names.

24. When moving a couch up a staircase, PIVOT!

25. A silent auction is not a place to guess the price of something.

26. Always double check the measurements when building an entertainment unit.

27. Ugly, naked and guy do not make for an attractive combination.

28. Never let a duck and a chick near a foosball table.

29. Never put your head in a turkey.

30. Wooden spoons and toy trucks are great for massaging people's backs.

31. Taping oven mitts to your hands will prevent you from scratching chicken-pox.

32. Never bet your apartment.

33. Never leave teeth whitener on for longer than directed.

34. Don't pretend you bought furniture from a flee market when it's really from Pottery Barn.

35. It's not smelly cats fault.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week.
