The Harry Potter Series has many different lessons and is very popular, here is what many of the major characters have taught us.

1. Harry Potter taught us that anything is possible with faith and support.

2. Ron Weasley taught us the importance of friendship.


3. Hagrid taught us the importance of loyalty.


4. Ginny Weasley taught us that everyone has the strength and courage it takes to overcome anything.



5. Fred and George Weasley taught us that in the darkest of times there is light, love, and hope.

Oh, and of course to have FUN!

6. Neville Longbottom taught us that sometimes you must face your fears and stand up for what you believe in.


7. Bellatrix Lestrange taught us that there really are some horrible and evil people in the world.


8. Lord Voldemort taught us that without love the world would be a dark and horrible place.


9. Draco Malfoy taught us that everyone makes mistakes, and that everyone has feelings and emotions.



10. Severus Snape taught us how to fight for love. He also taught us how to be brave.



11. Albus Dumbledore taught us that there is life beyond death, and how important it is to be a positive influence on others.


12. Remus Lupin taught us that no matter what happens there is a way to survive.



13. Minerva McGonagall taught us to find our true potential and utilize it to be a badass. Let's admit it she was a pretty awesome person!


14. Sirius Black taught us to never betray your friends and to be loyal to those who are loyal to you.



15. Hermione Granger taught us that being a nerd is cool too and that thirst for knowledge can be beneficial.



16. Luna Lovegood taught us that the importance of being yourself, and unique!

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.
