This summer I had a full time, 40 hour week internship. It meant more working than I had done before, but also more to learn from my work.
1. A career is more than just 9-5 Monday-Friday
If you really enjoy what you do you shouldn't be staring at the clock all day. Instead, you'll be caught up in your work and find excitement in what your day consists of. Somethings from your work just naturally become a part of your daily thoughts.
2. Take advantage of every opportunity
As an intern I wanted to learn about the job, so whenever someone offered some work for me,or I was given the chance to go somewhere for my job I said yes. These also helped me make a good impression and get more experience while also filling my day.
3. Get the morning coffee
I didn't drink coffee until this summer. But I'll be honest – it saved me on multiple occasions. Just keep track of how often you indulge because the grande Iced Caramel Macchiatos can quickly take a toll on your bank account.
4. Put in the effort
Being an intern I could often be overlooked. Therefore, it was up to me to make an impression and work hard. This proved to my coworkers and those in charge that I earned my role at the office.
