It's been a while since One Tree Hill has been on the air, but the stories and the lessons still apply today. With every laugh and tear, viewers learn a little more and have some great quotes from authors and characters.

1. It is okay to cry and to be sad for a little while.

Jamie always seems to say the right thing. That's probably because the show is scripted, but still, this boy knows what's up.

2. Love will always be more important.

You can work hard for your career and be happy, but at the end of the day make sure you have someone to love. This can be your friends or a significant other or a child or a pet. 50% of life is what you are doing and the other half is who you are doing it with.

3. You can fight.

You might not have gone through as much as Peyton, but you are still a warrior. You can fight and you will fight. That is really your only option in life.

4. Be truly you.

Show people that they are wrong about you... or that they are right. It is their opinion so why should you care? If they don't like you, then they aren't worth your time.

5. Remember...Karma.

Be kind. Be kind. Be kind. Oh, and did I say, be kind?

6. Sometimes you have to be your own hero.

You won't always have someone to help you. Besides, Brooke Davis loves a good cape.

7. How to love forever.

Haley and Nathan are the people that you would never expect to work because they are so different, but this is what makes them perfect. They give hope to every nerd and athlete couple around the world. Granted, Haley is kind of a bad a** singer, but it still seemed unlikely. Through every mountain and valley they stayed together and pulled through.

8. Hard times are temporary.

No matter how bad things get, another day will come. Eventually, everything will be different. The place you wake up will be different, what you do for the day will be different, who you see throughout the day will be different. If things are bad, it will eventually all be different.

9. Forgive and love again.

You can find love again. This doesn't make the first love less real, it just gives you another person.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
