If you have ever watched One Tree Hill, you know of the legendary Brooke Davis. And if you haven't, you probably have still seen Brooke Davis on social media. Brooke Davis is a character that shows girls how to be successful.

1. Be who you truly are.

Before anything, you need to be who you are. Do not change for a boy. Be you because that's the best version.

2. Do not let peoples definition of you define you.

You are the one who knows you best. People will judge you, especially in high school but the way you over come that is what really speaks volumes

3. It is OK to feel alone sometimes.

Not everyday is going to feel perfect. Admitting that you feel aloe is not something to be ashamed of.

4. Sometimes...you have to be a bitch.

Self explanatory.

5. You do not need a guy in your life to feel important.

In high school especially, there is this stigma that in order to be "cool" you need a boyfriend. You find any guy and what they say, you let them define you. When you stop letting them define you, you will be a better person and you will be so much more successful then relying on a guy.

6. Do not let double standards be a thing.

Unfortunately, double standards exist. As girls, we need to stand with each other and just live our lives and stop letting these double standards define our life. Like the first one, be who you are and stop worrying about the what ifs.

7. Sometimes it is OK to start over.

The person you were last year or a few years ago is not who you have to be the rest of your life. You can start fresh.

8. Be careful who you trust.

In life, you are gonna realize that their are some people you cannot trust. People lie and that sucks but the sooner you realize that, the more successful you will be.

9. Do not let a guy get between a friendship.

Your best friend is more important than that guy.

10. Be honest.

Don't lie. Say how you feel because us girls sometimes get words put into our mouths that we don't want to say.

11. Have a sense of humor.

I mean...you have to crack a joke once in a while.

12. Believe.

Believe you can change the world and your impact will be huge.

13. You will be successful.

You will get there. It won't be easy but you will overcome your difficulties and you will get there.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
