The amazing country star, Carrie Underwood, is finally back after months of being in the dark. Not only did she make a bang coming back by delivering an emotional performance at the ACM awards, but she brought along with her an amazing new song, "Cry Pretty."

1. "So I apologize if you don't like what you see, But sometimes my emotions get the best of me, And falling apart is as human as it gets..."

Carrie starts off her song with these strong lyrics. They immediately tell us "Hey, I'm upset. Sorry if you don't like it but it's only human so... get over it."

We don't have to be strong all the time.

2. "A picture of pain, so let it flow like a river..."

Don't hold it in. Let it out, breathe, and pick yourself up again.

3. "You can pretty lie and say it's okay, You can pretty smile and just walk away, Pretty much fake your way through anything, But you can't cry pretty..."

The first chorus and the first chord struck in your heart. The lyrics couldn't reveal any more of a truth when it comes to the expectations this world has given you.

4. "You can't turn off the flood when the dam breaks, When all your mascara is going to waste, When things get ugly you just gotta face, That you can't cry pretty..."

Stop caring what others think and put yourself first. Like I said previously... let it all out.

* * *

Go pick up your earbuds and phone, let this song play, and let it hit you that Carrie's right. You can't cry pretty but that's OK.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
