The great Leslie Knope. We all know her from Parks & Recreation. Leslie Knope is the kind of person some of us hope to one day become. She's dedicated, loyal, hardworking, and extremely confident. Leslie knows she can do everything she sets her mind to and will not let anyone get in her way. So in honor of Leslie's awesomeness, here are some Leslie Knope quotes to live by!

"I am big enough to admit that I am often inspired by myself."

Being able to step back and realize that we are making a difference is something we all should do. Leslie reminds us that it's important to remember that we are sometimes bigger than we think we are and that we should keep learning and keep being inspired by what we accomplish.

"I am super chill all the time."

While Leslie does not look super chill here, we should all at least try to be chill all the time. Sometimes things aren't worth getting worked up about. Will it matter is an hour or 30 years down the road? Probably not. So don't get worked up about the small things.

"We need to remember what's important in life: friends, waffles, and work. Or waffles, friends, work. But work has to come third."

When it comes to the important things in life, Leslie knows what's up. You should always make time for friends, waffles, and work. But your shouldn't let work be the most important thing in your life.

"Hey, Leslie. It's Leslie. Hang in there. I love you. Bye."

Leslie reminds us to take the time to care for ourselves. We all know that in the long run everything is going to be fine, but we tend to forget that at the moment. If you're having a rough day, maybe leave yourself a voicemail telling yourself everything is going to be okay.

"I guess some people object to powerful depictions of awesome ladies."

Ladies, we're all going to face someone that can't handle the great things we accomplish. But we don't need to let them being uncomfortable with a successful woman get in our way. We can't let their objections stop us. Make them object to the even greater things you'll accomplish.

"Hoes before bros. Uteruses before duderuses. Ovaries before brovaries."

One of the greatest lessons we should learn is that it is important to remember who your friends are. Starting new relationships are fun, but we need to remember those who were there before the fine gentleman and those who will be there when the so called gentleman leaves. And if we've learned anything from the friendship Leslie and Ann Perkins have, it's that you can never be too thankful for your best friend.

"If I seem too passionate, it's because I care. If I come off too strong, it's because I feel strongly. And if I push too hard, it's because things aren't moving fast enough."

Leslie shows us that if we work hard enough and believe strongly enough, we can change the world. Leslie always accomplished everything that she set her mind to. She shows us that it's okay to be dedicated and push to achieve our goals. If no one tries to make a change, then how will the world move forward to be a better place? Be the change you want to see. Just like Leslie.

"I'm ready."

Although this is definitely not a quote exclusive to Leslie Knope (remember Spongebob when he was ready?) we should all be ready for anything that life throws at us. If there is anything that Leslie Knope has taught us, it's that with the right attitude, we can be ready for anything.

Whether you're going into the world of politics or entering the world of teaching, go and be the Leslie Knope of whatever you do, because the world could use a few Leslie Knopes.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.
