We all know Leonardo DiCaprio for being one of the greatest actors of all time, in movies like Titanic, Catch Me If You Can, Django Unchained, and The Wolf of Wall Street, to name a few. But for the past three years, DiCaprio has been putting his time towards investigating one of the world's biggest problems today: Climate Change.
This Sunday, October 30th at 9 pm on the National Geographic Channel, DiCaprio's Before the Flood documentary will be available to stream for free as well as on YouTube, Facebook, Hulu, and Twitter. Watch the trailer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UGsRcxaSAI
Through this film, he is trying to make an effort for more people around the world to be aware of how bad it is and to debunk those that don't believe in climate change. He explains that the U.S. is the biggest emitter of greenhouse emissions, and many places in Asia are permanently covered in fog due to extreme air pollution. In it, he meets with world leaders and the Pope. He also meets with Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, and talks about what it would take to convert the whole world to clean energy.
The film reveals that a lot of what is being done in regards to stopping climate change or making it worse comes down to politics. One man in the film trailer said that “Politicians do what the people want them to do. Once the American people are convinced, the politicians will fall in line." So if enough people demand change, change will happen.
This film is a great chance to learn about the extent of the damage we have done, what can possibly be done to fix it, and to inspire people to take action.
Just tell your friends Leonardo DiCaprio is in it, and that it's produced by Martin Scorsese, and they won't be able to say no.
