This past Friday Lena Dunham found herself at the center of many Twitter user's wrath after an interview with fellow comedian and friend Amy Schumer went live. In the interview, Dunham discussed her experience at the MET Gala where she was seated at the same table as New York Giants Football Star Odell Beckham Jr.
Dunham said, "I was sitting next to Odell Beckham Jr., and it was so amazing because it was like he looked at me and he determined I was not the shape of a woman by his standards. He was like, 'That's a marshmallow. That's a child. That's a dog.' It wasn't mean – he just seemed confused," Things get even more uncomfortable in the interview when Dunham commented,"The vibe was very much like, 'Do I want to f--- it? Is it wearing a … yep, it's wearing a tuxedo. I'm going to go back to my cell phone.' It was like we were forced to be together, and he literally was scrolling Instagram rather than have to look at a woman in a bow tie. I was like, 'This should be called the Metropolitan Museum of Getting Rejected by Athletes,'"
It didn't take long for the Twitterverse to slam Lena for her comments...
Lena Dunham just really tried to slam Odell Beckham jr. Over a conversation she had with herself in her head ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜

Lena Dunham and co. Only care about their feminism as white women.
Their activism doesn't include POC nor the average female.

Lena Dunham is mad that a man DIDN'T objectify her and give her attention. I thought that was a good thing pic.twitter.com/42UDd7bisA

Dunham responded to the criticism quickly by tweeting,.@OBJ_3 is talented, stylish, seems super awesome and wasn't into chatting with me at a fancy party.
— Lena Dunham (@lenadunham) September 2, 2016My story about him was clearly (to me) about my own insecurities as an average-bodied woman at a table of supermodels & athletes.
— Lena Dunham (@lenadunham) September 2, 2016It's not an assumption about who he is or an expectation of sexual attention. It's my sense of humor, which has kept me alive for 30 years.

She even threw in a direct tweet to Amy Schumer...Glad the outrage machine roars on though, right @amyschumer?

In a last attempt to be funny and diffuse the disturbing situation she created with her comments, She dragged Michael B. Jordan (another talented black male actor) into the mix.....ps I'll try and dance myself onto @michaelb4jordan if I have the chance, even when I'm a married grandma. I'm a red blooded str8 woman!

I have no idea what she was thinking. Maybe she thought she was funny by objectifying Michael B. Jordan (She always talks about women being objectified...does objectification not apply to men Lena?) Also how she turned all of her non interaction with Odell Beckham Jr (OBJ) into a sexual characterization of OBJ is problematic given the history of the hypersexualization of black males. She's like a walking contradiction. #DoBetterLena
