10 Legally Blonde Quotes To Get You Though Your Law Degree

Elle Woods is an icon and a beacon of light in this cruel, cruel world. We need her words of wisdom to keep us going.

*Blasts "Legally Blonde the Musical" soundtrack as I write this*

1.  Warner:  "You got into Harvard Law?"    Elle: "What? Like, it's hard?"

Giphy

A classic. Leave it to Elle to be so nonchalant over getting into HARVARD. I strive to be as classy as she is. A true queen.

2.  "I feel comfortable using legal jargon in everyday life. (catcalls) I object!"  -- Elle

Giphy

Me, coming up for air from writing a case brief.

3.  "Paulette, I taught Bruiser to shop online, I think I can handle congress."  -- Elle

Giphy

Give me this confidence. Also.... how?

Maybe you should switch your focus to Animal Behavior because, wow.

4.  "Do you think she woke up one morning and said: I think I'll go to law school today?" -- Professor Callahan

Giphy

I mean, yes. But like, so did I. I feel so personally attacked.

5.  "Elle, we came to see your trial and look! There’s like a judge and everything… and jury people."  -- Serena

Giphy

Me, anytime I observe actual court.

6.  "I once had to judge a tighty-whitey contest for Lambda Kappa Pi. Trust me, I can handle anything.  -- Elle

Giphy

Yes queen. Don't worry, law doesn't even compare to judging a tighty-whitey contest.

7.  "If I’m going to be a partner in a law firm by the time I’m 30, I’m going to need a boyfriend who’s not such a bonehead.” -- Elle

Giphy

You remember she said this in rebuttal to Warner's: "Elle, if I'm gonna be a senator by the time I'm 30, I need to marry a Jackie, not a Marilyn."

TAKE THAT WARNER. You actual piece of poop. You left little miss Elle Woods in the dust and then came crawling back to her when she showed. you. up. Boy, bye.

8.  "Except when I dress up as a frigid bitch, I try not to look so constipated."  -- Elle

Giphy

Get. Her.

Gotta love a little girl drama. And after all the shade Vivian threw, I was so happy Elle snuck this backhanded comment so nonchalantly in there. It just shows you can be tolerant of crap but still demand respect-- which is a constant reminder that we all need to be like Elle.

9. "If you're going to let one stupid prick ruin your life, you're not the girl I thought you were."  -- Professor Stromwell

Giphy

Peep Professor McGonagall-- I mean Professor Stromwell. There's going to be jerks all throughout your life and your career. Don't let them make you feel like less of a woman-- or less of a person-- for being your true, authentic self.

10.  "You must always have faith in people. And most importantly, you must always have faith in yourself."  -- Elle

Giphy

Cue the tears.

Thank you, Elle. For helping me realize my worth-- not just as a woman in a male-dominated industry-- but as a person who deserves respect, and who can do anything she sets her mind to.

Reese Witherspoon, please reprise your roll in Legally Blonde 3 so Elle can keep showing women just how incredible they are. And because I selfishly want to see another Legally Blonde movie in my lifetime.

See ya in 2020, Elle!

28 Daily Thoughts of College Students

"I want to thank Google, Wikipedia, and whoever else invented copy and paste. Thank you."

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

Christmas tree

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
