“We’re almost halfway through 2016, and marijuana tax collections in Colorado and Washington have exceeded initial estimates. For instance, Colorado’s cannabis industry brought in more than $270 million in the first quarter of 2016 alone. New analysis from the Tax Foundation found nationwide legalization of marijuana could generate up to $28 billion in tax revenues for federal, state, and local governments. That includes $7 billion in federal revenue, $5.5 billion from business taxes, and $1.5 billion from income and payroll taxes, the report outlined.”

You mean to tell me that THIS:

Gave almost 270 MILLION DOLLARS ALONE TO THE STATE OF COLORADO last year?!

“New analysis from the Tax Foundation found nationwide legalization of marijuana could generate up to $28 billion in tax revenues for federal, state, and local governments.”

You are absolutely kidding, right? No way. No freaking way.

YOU MEAN THIS:

CAN GIVE OUR COUNTRY 28 BILLION EXTRA TO PLAY AROUND WITH?

Now i live in the state of NC where we FINALLY have a democratic gov.

We just lost a shit ton of money from HB2 because of our ex gov who was a complete moron. He lost us about 3.6 billion dollars for our state.

This fucking bathroom bill ruined all our lives. Heres what the HB2 bill did. Okay? So:

1. It allowed employees to be terminated based on skin color.

2. It allowed woman to be demoted, transferred, or terminated from jobs because of their sex.

3. The bill required new bathrooms be placed in schools, and public places for people who are trans (with no actual security risk)

4. And caused NC 3.6 billion federal dollars because people pulled out concerts, games, ect from us because of our horrible law.

You can find more information HERE .

NOW, if we took away this bill. We would have our 3.6 billion dollars.

I have told you both stories because they both play a significant role in what im about to propose for our state.

You know, we would gain a ton of extra money back by taking away this bill, and would gain a bunch of money by legalizing weed. This is what i believe should be done with this extra money.

What should we do with it all?

Take a look at this:

Now here is some data:

“According to the NCCEH data, nearly a quarter of North Carolina’s homeless population are children and another fifteen percent are their parents. Single men make up nearly half of the homeless population (46%) while single women are 15%. Statewide, veterans comprise 9% of the homeless population.” — More information HERE.

So what can we do?

First, we could put some real programs in place to combat homelessness. We could start by remodeling old factories into shopping malls with living areas on the top. We could put in a program for homeless vets, college students, and others who are in desperate need of employment. With this program we could give them money to start their own businesses in these shopping malls. The rent could be cheaper in these malls to allow homeless to have permanent homes. This kind of a program could actually create more jobs for us, and benefit the homeless.

The second thing i believe we should do is make college free for students.

Now, before you start screaming at me with the following idea, hear me out.

After we make college free for students in public universities, we can then create a law to only allow college students two jobs per semester. This kind of a law would benefit students by giving them more opportunities to study, while living life stress free from prices of college tuition.

If we raised the minimum wage to 11$ an hour, then students would have no reason to complain. This would also create other jobs for other struggling students, and create more jobs for adults lowering our unemployment rates in our state.

But those aren’t the only things we can do with “weed money”.

We can save lives. Weed actually has many health benefits.

Take a look at this video to see these benefits:

Interesting, right? How much we could truly benefit from this?

It is my greatest hope that we can legalize weed now for the benefit of North Carolina as a whole. Hopefully we can get some good programs going to combat unemployment, and homelessness as a whole in North Carolina. So i make an urge for the Carolina legislature to make a real push to legalize weed as it would do us a ton of good.

To my readers, i hope you have enjoyed this informative article about what this could do for us as a whole, and accept some of my ideas. Let me know thoughts in the comments!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
