Let me begin with the fact that I am pro-marijuana legalization. I also know that there have been studies that medicinal marijuana can help in curing certain kinds of cancer, aid in calming people with multiple disabilities, and in most cases help with any general illness. I think that marijuana should be legalized because of the fact that it helps people instead of killing people like cigarettes and alcohol can do. Alcohol often has the effect of making people have an adrenaline rush where they often think they are invincible. Cigarettes are known to cause lung cancer and many other internal problems. I don’t drink; nor do I smoke but marijuana on the other hand relaxes you, truthfully, the only downfall is the munchies. The only illness you may suffer from marijuana could be obesity.
A good example of marijuana in the works is helping people who are emotionally scarred, such as: soldiers with PTSD or people with bipolar disorder, ADHD, anxiety problems and depression. Before the legalization of marijuana in Colorado and Washington there was skepticism and there continues to be skepticism over the drug. Some people, including myself are more statistically inclined when it comes to marijuana, and realize that in Colorado they have earned around 70% more income, and not only have they gained a large profit they also have safer communities and the crime rates have dropped.
Marijuana may be classified as a class 3 drug but overall I think it is a good thing when it comes to medical purpose. But, whether you take it for a medical reason or just to relax for a few hours after a long day, I would approve and never judge you. I have done the research and I know the honest facts, there has NEVER been a reported death caused by marijuana. So why not legalize it?
