Who would have ever thought a coming-of-age baseball film in the 90s set in 1962 would remain such a classic decades later? Growing up, this cult classic was a favorite to many— myself included. Between all the characters, iconic one-liners, lessons taught, and rise from the ground up underdog story, I think it's safe to say that this movie will continue to keep its legacy for all the years to come.
Although it's your atypical sports-based movie, that doesn't necessarily even mean it's solely about sports. This film encapsulated youth and there's no denying it.

For the boys, this summer was completely and utterly unforgettable, truly carving their paths in life. One of the main lessons "The Sandlot" teaches us is that all things eventually come to an end, just like this glorious summer of 1962.
It's funny, though. As kids, you can't wait to grow up, but when you're an adult, you can't help but get nostalgic looking back at some of the best years of your life whether it be your childhood, summers, or even college— those key monumental moments when everything changed.
