Leg day is not always fun, but it's nearly always worth it. You can't wait for that time of the day you finally get to go to the gym and start making some gains until you realize its dreaded leg day. Squats, lunges, hamstring curls, leg extensions, you can't help but think about how sore you will be the next day. Leg day is so rewarding but also so tiring. Here are the steps and thoughts to working out those legs.
1. Before I get to the gym.
It is that time to get ready and go to the gym but it seems so hard.
The hardest part is getting up and heading to the gym when you know it's the dreaded leg day.
I try to think of excuses why I actually shouldn't go. Could I just do legs tomorrow? Do I have other things I need to do? Am I even healthy enough to do legs today?
I finally come to terms that leg day has to happen so I say fine and give in and head to the gym.
2. Before I start lifting.
I am finally at the gym but I can't start lifting until I get some pre workout and a good warm up in.
When my pre workout finally kicks in I feel like I can conquer anything, especially this leg workout that I am about to do.
Okay, time for a warm up.
Feeling good, let's do this!
3. During my leg workout.
I am feeling good and ready to start but really it goes downhill for a while from here.
During squats. May have thrown up in my mouth a little, and now I am just crying.
I am halfway through and I just want to stop.
I begin to question why I put myself through this misery. I want to give up but know that I must keep going.
I finally reach my breaking point and can't feel my legs. They turned into noodles and really, I can't stop shaking.
Then I realized I'm all done and still alive. Killed it!
I just have to figure out how to walk and get home first.
4. After leg day.
After I have finally completed leg day, it's really just an emotional roller coaster ride.
The next day I don't even want to get out of bed, let alone walk around all day.
I question why I did this to myself and decide to never do leg day again.
Walking becomes nearly impossible and do not even get me started on trying to sit down or use the bathroom.
Hey, my butt already looks better. There is a plus side to this madness.
My quads, my hamstrings, my ass, you can call me quadzilla! I knew it was worth it because my legs are finally growing.
What was I was I thinking, I love leg day!
Then soon enough its back to doing it all over again.
Maybe these are just my thoughts that I have going through leg day but in the end I really do love it. Although it may be hard sometimes the changes I have seen always makes it worth it. Its always a good feeling after a long workout and that is why I will continue to go back for more. Good luck with all the leg days in your near future!
