The Golden State Warriors quickly swept the Cleveland Cavaliers in the finals. The Cavs didn't win any of the games, and the Warrior came up on top with 4 wins in a row. Now that the 2018 NBA Finals are over, everyone's next question is "Where will LeBron go next?"
There has been a lot of speculation as to what team LeBron James will go to next. All of my friends who are basketball fans seem to be convinced that he is going to whatever team is their favorite team. My friend J, tells all of my friends every other day that LeBron James is going to go to his team, the Atlanta Hawks. Sorry J, that's probably not going to happen. Although LeBron James has not confirmed nor really commented on what his next move and team will be, sports analysts and fans have a couple of teams in mind that they really think he will consider going to.
The first team is the Los Angeles Lakers. Many people are speculating that this will be the most likely option for LeBron James for multiple reason. The main reason is because his son is reportedly committed to playing basketball at a high school in Los Angeles. This would definitely be a deciding factor in where James ends up because he has stated in the past that he would like to focus on what would be beneficial to his family now, and I think that would include relocating to Los Angeles to help his son fulfill his dream of making it to the NBA. Reports also say that James is has many connections in L.A. for his other business ventures, that could help him with his future career moves. Not to mention, he has the ability to create a new super team with players of his choosing, if the Lakers let go of some of their current players to allow a bigger cap size for new players.
Another team that LeBron James might go to is the Philadelphia 76ers. Joel Embiid, arguably the 76ers best players, tweeted at LeBron James "Trust The Process!!!! Find a new slant @KingJames". It's safe to say that he is obviously encouraging James to join the team, which would make them a definite contender for the 2019 NBA Finals. LeBron James is also close with the Fresh Prince, Ben Simmons who is a rookie on the 76ers. Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid and LeBron James on one team would make the 76ers a force to be reckoned with.
Fans are also speculating that James will go to the Houston Rockets next season. While on The Herd with Colin Cowherd, Chris Bosh – 11-time All-star, future Hall of Famer, and Miami Heat player – stated that "[he] would guess LeBron goes to Houston". If he goes to Houston, the Rockets would be almost guaranteed to make it to the Finals with a superstar roster – Chris Paul, James Harden, and LeBron James.
I'm hoping that he goes to the 76ers because they are a young team that needs one superstar player to help them develop and advance next season. No one will know though, until James makes his final decision in July.
