Now, hear me out, if LeBron is going to leave, he should go to a young team who's somewhat established already and here are the two teams who, I think, fit that criteria.
Philadelphia 76ers
The Sixers shocked just about every single NBA fan -- except Philly fans of course because they have the craziest fanbase. However, this season, they weren't crazy at all for saying that their team was going to make it to the playoffs, because they definitely did.
Dynamic duo Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons did work in the city of Brotherly Love despite how much doubt they were facing since they're such a young team.
They defied the odds again when they beat the Miami Heat 4-1 in Round 1 of the playoffs, but then they nearly got swept by the Boston Celtics (4-1) in the round after that.
Nonetheless, they finished the regular season as the third seed -- and they competed at such a high level that many people still don't believe because of how inexperienced they were.
Now, you got your starters: Ben Simmons, JJ Redick, Robert Covington, Dario Saric and Amir Johnson. Then, you got T.J. McConnell, Marco Belinelli and Joel Embiid as you rotators (I'd say Markelle Fultz but... he could've done a bit better this season).
Add LeBron to the mix as a starting point or forward, and this team is going to the Finals.
Boston Celtics
Ok, I know. Kyrie is on this team, and he left the Cavs because of Bron (or so I think).
But do you remember the 2016 team that beat the Warriors? The ones who put a stop to that madness?
Yup, that was the Kyrie-Bron duo.
Either way, the Celtics topped LeBron and his Cavs during the regular season, claiming the No. 1 seed. Unfortunately for Boston, they fell a game short to the King, but they took it to the max 7 games -- for a young team to even compete that well against the best player in the league is kudos enough.
So you got your starters Terry Rozier/Kyrie Irving, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Al Horford and Aron Baynes. Then rotators Marcus Smart, Gordon Hayward, Marcus Morris and Greg Monroe.
Imagine Bron on that team?
If this team doesn't have a better chance at beating the Warriors then... I don't know anymore.
All I ask, LeBron, please don't go to the Warriors. Thanks.
Love,
A concerned sports fan
