To leave.

We all have to eventually, at some point or another. We all have to, for many different reasons. Whether it be leaving a friendship, a relationship, a house, a school, a state, we all leave. It becomes a difficult task when the deed comes time to be done. The stress, the mixed emotions, the racing thoughts all build up into a unique experience. Some are easier than others, and some we regret. In the end, the universe works in mysterious ways and we have to trust that life will work out.

Becoming attached is a beautiful yet treacherous thing. The feeling of being close to someone, something, can make us feel safe, protected and loved. However, it can also make us jealous, balancing on a thin wire between some level of psychotic and also makes it a thousand times harder to say goodbye.

To those who feel like they become too attached never apologize for caring “too much." It’s an incredible quality to care strongly for others who are significant in your life. But you also can’t be afraid to let someone or something go when the times comes. You can put if off and avoid it for as long as possible, but then you are only suffering longer. Leaving can cause your heart to shatter into a thousand pieces, but you can’t let it bring you down.

Leaving can be terrifying. Your life changes suddenly, or you’re thrown into a new place. Leaving can also be the most rewarding experience of your life. You have so many new opportunities, so many chances to meet people, find new hobbies, explore new areas. New beginnings can be exciting! There comes a time when we all want to leave and go somewhere. Even something as small as leaving your bed to go hang out with friends can be rewarding. Some of the bigger experiences, like moving to a new state, or moving to college, or leaving your parents and finding your own place, hold so many great opportunities for your eager soul. Of course, new beginnings are scary. Our lives change from what we know and what is comfortable to the unknown.

But our whole future is unknown. There are countless more times when we will have to leave. It’s a part of life that we have to accept and look forward to. Leaving does not always have to be negative, and most times it isn’t! One of the hardest things to do in life is to find the positive in all possible situations. There is no word to describe how incredibly important it is to look at every situation in a positive manner. Negative thinking is a terribly depressing thought style.

Leaving may be terrifying, heart-breaking and uncomfortable, but everything will work out in the end. If it hasn’t worked out, it’s not the end. Positivity is a wonderful thing and you should strive to view the world in such a manner. We have all accomplished so much with our lives and we have so much left to discover.

Leaving is not a horrible thing, I promise.

10 Truths About Being In A Sorority

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
