Sisters are like built-in best friends. They always have been.
We've heard the saying since we were practically born. Isn't that so true, though? You fight, you love, you cry, you laugh, and you do it all together. Most importantly, you could not live without one another.
She's there to steal your clothes that you haven't taken the tags off of, borrow that Kylie Jenner makeup that you haven't even gotten to wear yet, and get on your literal last nerve until you contemplate homicide (& maybe even attempt it, LOL, sorry about that, Bethany). Have you ever seen that quote that is something along the lines of, "having a sister is so weird, like, I would give my sister my liver, but she can't borrow my clothes?" That is such a relatable quote because I don't think anyone can honestly say that they have never lost their cool when their sister stole their shirt, AGAIN, after you've told them 120 times that all they have to do is just ask and you'll gladly let them!
She's also there to encourage you when you feel like you aren't capable of something.
She holds you while you cry after you got your heart broken for the 456,987,233rd time because you ignored all the red flags, again. And, she's there to be your own personal "hype man" because, really, everyone needs one. She's someone who would drop anyone and everything at every beckon just to come save you, help you, or just keep you company. We don't realize how much these little things impact our lives in such big ways until we no longer have them.
Then, you're five days away from moving back to college, and you realize that you don't get to take your sister with you.
She will no longer be right down the hall. She won't just bust open the door when you're just trying to use the bathroom. All the things that annoyed you to death are the things you know you're gonna miss the most.
As you pack your boxes and load your car up, you look in your passenger seat and you realize that you're missing something you very desperately need -- your sister.
So, give her a tight squeeze and take some extra-long looks in your rearview mirror because once you begin your college journey away from home, you have to leave your soul sista behind.
