Leaving home for the second time after an extra long break from school can be hard. You miss your family, puppy, room, and friends. It never gets easier. You are leaving a whole piece of you at home.
Although you will miss home, you will be at your home away from home. It is time to return to campus and enjoy the independent college life for a second go around. You'll get back into the schedule that consists of early morning and late night studying. Yes, it's happening, again.
You are back in the lecture hall with both new and familiar faces. After receiving your final grades from the first semester, you're probably motivated to excel this semester... until you see the syllabus. But, do not forget what you learned the first semester. You spent countless hours studying and preparing for test and quizzes for the past four months, but leaving for the holidays completely erased all the knowledge you obtained. Now, it's time for you to get back to the basics and rekindle all that you learned.
Leaving all the good food at home is so upsetting, but the dining hall has to do. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are spent at the Cafe. Although, the variety of food prepared is not ideal, it'll do for now. In a month or two, you'll definitely get sick of it and revert to McDonald's or Chick-fil-a on a daily basis.
Breakdowns will start to happen again. We've all been there, crying during late hours of the night in the library as we cram for a test. Expect a couple of breakdowns this semester. What's college without them? NOTHING. Classes really test your limits.
All the hours spent working over winter break was awesome. Now, that it is time to get back to school, it is time to start budgeting. Starting the semester with plenty of money is always a plus, but if you don't mind your spending, you'll be broke in a minute. Be cautious with your money to avoid mooching off friends and roommates.
College is tiring and naps are SO needed. Naps will be more of an everyday thing again. As a college student, we know we'll never be able to catch up on our sleep, it's inevitable. But any chance you get to catch a quick nap, take it. We can use all the sleep we can get.
After leaving home and having a long week of hard work, go out with your friends and enjoy yourself. It never hurts to have a little fun. Dance like it is going out of style and share memories with your friends at school before summer comes.
