On Saturday, I turned 19 years old. It's probably not a very exciting year to most (more like just a filler of the gap between 18 and 21), but for me it means a lot of things. This is the 19th year that I've been here doing this whole "life" thing, which hasn't always been easy. It's also my last year to be able to say "When I was a teenager." 18 years old flew by, and I'm not about to let the same thing happen to 19. I've learned a lot by the age of 19, some right on time and some a bit too soon, but nonetheless I am thankful.
1. You might as well do it today, because time doesn't stop (or slow down) for anybody.
2. Spending that free hour during your day in God's Word will always be more worth your while than anything else.
3. The high school nostalgia does not die down from freshman year of college to the next.
4. There is nothing that a bowl of fruity frozen yogurt can't fix.
5. Some friends were real all along, some were not. You will find out only with enough time and distance.
6. Even if the experience didn't end well, falling in love is always worth it.
7. Joining a sorority is the best thing you can do for yourself. (Forget what anyone tells you).
8. Puppy fever is so real.
9. Time spent with your grandma gets sweeter with every year.
10. Your differences deserve to be celebrated.
11. You have got to get out of whatever it is that's making you unhappy. There's not enough trips around the sun for you to feel like this any longer than you have to.
12. You'll never regret going to class or actually doing the homework.
13. Just because everyone in your college town seems to be doing it, doesn't mean God wants you to.
14. There are very few pains worse than losing the dog you grew up with.
15. Giving from the heart means that you genuinely expect nothing in return, and this concept takes a long time to grasp.
16. Bruster's gives a free extra scoop if you go while it's raining outside. You're welcome.
17. Your week will always go at least a little bit better if you have been to church that Sunday.
18. Planning big things can be scary, so turn to the people you love and respect to help guide you.
19. "But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life." 1 Timothy 1:16
