We all go through seasons of greatness and seasons of not so greatness in our lives, and when we're in that not so great part it's extremely easy to slip into that unhappy rut and never pull yourself out or appreciate it for what it is. It is a learning experience, and part of your story. A part that is going to shape you just as much as the happy times shape you, if not more. You can't feel bad for yourself, and you have to realize every season of life is for a specific reason. If we didn't have the hard times we could never appreciate the great times to their full value, so that is the thing to remember number one.

Don't get down, because better times are heading your way, so take that positive energy and do something with it. Go on a run, or paint something or play an instrument. Channel it into something awesome so that when you get out of this phase you can be proud of what you accomplished. Some of the best songs ever come from when someone is in the toughest moments of their life. You can make happiness and greatness too. There really is no time to waste, so you have to learn to love every single minute you have been given.

Sometimes you have to be sad because maybe you've never felt that emotion so deeply, and people can't skim through life with just mild emotions. While most would say that kind of sucks, I would agree in the moment of that sadness that it does suck, but you learn so much about yourself when you're down. You learn how you cope with things, who and what you can rely on, and just how strong you are. When you're stressed out like crazy or sadder than ever, you have to know that the only direction is up. That's what has kept me going in hard times, the thought that there is so much potential for growth in my life. There are so many doors that will open, but you have to realize that they will only be there when you're ready for them.

It's also important to sit down for a second and take the time to think about what you're feeling and why. While positive energy is one of the most important things in general, you have to think about what you're going through and sort your way through it, even if you just do that every so often. This is necessary to do even when you're happy, it should be obvious but sometimes we forget to take in what we have. To think about what is going so great, who is making it so great, and realize how lucky you are at that moment. Every season of life, in the end, is meant to improve you, sometimes you just have to sit back and let it happen.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
