While we as a society may think fundraising is easy, a CEO may not think so. CEOs do not only have to be involved with the fundraising nowadays but they have to keep in mind which fundraiser is actively involved, the staff of people, and the fundraising event as well. It's not just about raising money, it is a much bigger task than what others may think that it is. Which is why there are multiple jobs of a CEO of a nonprofit, fundraising is only a portion of the tasks.
Leadership is also important in being the CEO of a nonprofit. Warren and Burt thought just that by comparing managers and leaders. Leaders are focused on the overall representation of the organization with the mission being known, whereas managers make sure things run smoothly in the organization with day to day issues that come up. While it is good to have things running smoothly in your non-profit, it's also important for those that are CEO's so make sure they are fulfilling their tasks in a way that others will remember them by so that they can become their own CEO's someday. I believe that is the end goal, for staff members on a non-profit organization to work towards being at the very top. Which is why it is harder to succeed whether your working to be a CEO or already a CEO.
