House of Cards

It's time to binge watch! The new season of "House of Cards" came out on Netflix and I'm sure it's going to be amazing. After all it somehow manages to mess with all of your emotions with major plot twists, and has this magical way of gluing you to your screen, and . One of my favorite characters is Claire Underwood, the incredibly fierce wife of France Underwood. I know how I'm spending my spring break binge watching it, and so should you, even if it's only for Claire.

*Warning! Spoilers Ahead!

1. She is a strong, independent woman.

She is not afraid to do her own thing. She creates her own light, not hiding in the shadow of her husband.

2. She is ambitious.

She works hard throughout all of her jobs in the show. Whether it was working for the Clean Water Initiative, being First Lady or Ambassador to the United Nations, she crushes it.

3. She is loyal to her husband.

Though they don't have the best relationship, at the end of the day, Claire is always at Francis' side, even when he doesn't deserve it.

4. Not only is she loyal to Francis, she is constantly keeping up his public image.

Francis would not be the President of the United States if it were not for Claire. She worked at the Clean Water Initiative to boost the image of Francis, along with many other political moves to get him where he is.

5. She is quite the classy first lady.

Let's face it she is fabulous. I ship Francis and Claire. Claire completes Francis; she makes him look good, and is able to stand alone all by herself.

6. She is a stellar ambassador to the United Nations.

She is not afraid to throw down in the political arena. She gets aggressive, forceful, and will get things done.

7. She is brilliant.

She has masters degree from Harvard University...pretty impressive. She is constantly thinking ahead, planning her next move, to gain success for herself as well as Francis.

8. She's not afraid to speak out when she knows something is not right.

Just look at the whole Petrov situation.

9. She doesn't take any crap from anyone.

She will call anyone out for being ridiculous, including her own husband.

10. Her style is killer!

Even in her pajamas, she looks awesome!

11. She is the best character on "House of Cards."

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
