Why do people find the need to go out all the time and spend so much money on things that are only going to last a few hours or a few days? I have never really understood the need to go out and party with my friends at the bar or go to the movies every weekend just for the heck of it. Maybe the broke college student inside is saying these things, but I don't think the fact that I'm broke is the only reason that I think like this; I can also be lazy sometimes and don't feel the urge to get all dressed up for a night on the town like other women my age. I love staying in my bed and sleeping or watching movies on Netflix, and I don't really like social interaction that much and avoid it a lot when it's not a necessity. I find "Lazy Sundays" to be some of the best times in my life and would prefer to do them over many other things and here is some more reasons why.
No One Will See You/Less Effort
This is probably one of my favorite reasons for having a "Lazy Sunday." If you stay in all day on a Sunday, you don't have to get dressed, fix you hair or do anything. You literally don't have to make an effort to make yourself presentable because no one is going to see you in your house; the mail isn't even delivered on Sundays, so you don't have to worry about the mailman possibly catching a glimpse of you in your pajamas. You would literally have to put little to no effort in to start your day out. Now doesn't that sound like a great way to spend a morning?
You Can Watch Whatever You Want
If you're spending your Sunday at home, the possibilities are endless to what you could do. You could catch up on the housework you know you've been putting off all week, but that wouldn't necessarily be a "Lazy Sunday" now would it? You could catch up on the latest episodes of your favorite TV show on Netflix, a personal favorite of mine by the way. The effort this would require is hitting "ok" every couple of hours when Netflix asks you if you're still watching or not. Like come on Netflix, you should know that its my "Lazy Sunday," and that of course I'm still watching after seven hours. Where else would I be? If you're not a TV show kind of person, then take a gander through the thousand of movie titles Netflix has to offer. Or rummage through your closet for those DVDs you know you have somewhere of your favorite Disney movie growing up as a child. It's there somewhere.
You Could Finally Finish That Book
I know personally that I love to read, and that I always start books with the intent on finishing them one day, but life gets in the way, and my books are put on standstill. I don't know if others are like this, but I have to assume that I'm not the only person that does this, so in these cases you could use your "Lazy Sunday" to finally finish that book you started months ago. You can even start the next novel you will eventually put on the back burners until your next "Lazy Sunday."
Sleep, Sleep, Sleep
So you can probably guess that I don't get a lot of sleep because I said I'm a college student, and you would be fair with that assumption. I don't get very much sleep. On a good night, I can get about 5-6 hours, but that's a good night. On most nights I'm lucky to get 3 hours of solid sleep. This is where "Lazy Sundays" come in. If I have nothing going on on my Sundays, you can almost guarantee that I will be sleeping in or at least taking a couple of naps throughout the day.
There are many reason to stay in on a Sunday, and these are just a few of the reason I've come up with. I'm sure I could come up with many more, but I would be here all day, and that looks like it might take a lot of effort on my part. I will leave you with this last note: on "Lazy Sundays," everything that I've mentioned above would cost zero dollars to do, and they are still fun things to do. For a college student, zero dollars is just in my budget and the result of fun is always a plus. Take note boys, the next time you want to hang with your girlfriend maybe you can see how a "Lazy Sunday" would be. Just a thought.
