1. I drove to the Caf from my dorm.

2. I risked a morning without coffee because I didn’t have any clean cups, and I certainly wasn't going to clean any.

3. I’ve worn the same pair of jeans without washing them for two weeks.

4. I’ve sat in the Caf and wanted something to drink, but the drink station was just too far away so I just didn’t get anything to drink.

5. I spent an entire Friday afternoon and evening sitting in the same place on my bed because I just didn’t want to get up.

6. I woke up in the middle of the night needing to use the restroom, but because getting out of bed involves a lot of effort, I just went back to sleep.

7. I purposefully didn’t pack very much for my dorm: not for the ~minimalistic~ look, but because I just didn’t want to carry and unpack a lot of boxes.

8. I didn’t wash my hair for four days because I didn’t want to take the time to dry it.

9. I didn’t plug in my low-battery phone before I went to sleep because my charger was on the other end of my bed and I didn’t want to sit up.

10. I went to sleep before finishing a project because I set my alarm early so I work on the project in the morning—and then, I ignored my alarm anyway.

11. I washed my laundry and folded it on my bed, but then I didn’t feel like hanging them up so I just slept around the stacks of clothes.

12. I can’t remember to fill my water bottle up so I’ve just let myself be dehydrated for a few weeks.

13. I picked a seat at the front of the classroom—risking spit and questioning—because walking to the back of the classroom just felt like too much for me.

14. I didn’t go home for a full weekend because I didn’t want to take the time to pack up clothes, makeup, and my toothbrush.

15. I sat near the tray return in the Caf instead of looking for any friends because I just wanted to eat and then take as few steps as possible to put away my dishes.

16. I just didn’t use my laptop for a few days because the battery died and I didn’t want to untangle my charger and plug it in.

17. I walked around with chapped lips for a week because I didn’t want to dig my tube of lip balm out of the bottom of my bag.

18. I didn’t order any textbooks for the first two weeks because I wasn’t emotionally prepared to open my student portal and the bookstore website and search for ISBNs.

19. I ate soup for lunch all week because it’s a complete meal and I only had to stand in line for one thing.

20. I carried six packages to the post office without a bag because my bags were under my desk and I didn’t want to squat down and then try to squeeze the packages into it.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
