Advice from Laguna Beach's finest

15 Lauren Conrad Life Lessons

We've religiously watched Lauren Conrad's every move for years, now. She's just downright inspirational. We have seen her with Stephen then Jason then back to Stephen then back to Jason then Brody and now happily married. From Laguna Beach to L.A., we watched her experience high school, college, and internships and saw her become "the girl who didn't go to Paris." We stuck by her side throughout all the friendship drama and envied the late nights out at exclusive clubs. Through it all though, LC has taught us some amazing life lessons that we are never going to forget.

1. When making decisions...

Before you say something on reality TV you might regret, or wear Uggs with your jean mini skirt, LC advises you to definitely think your decisions through.

2. There's nothing like a fresh start.

Everyone deserves a second chance, and it's never too late to start anew.

3. Quality over quantity.

Life's too short to keep the fake people around, don't waste your time surrounded by people who don't truly care about you. Appreciate the ones that stick by your side through everything; you deserve only the best of friends in your life!

4. Seriously, no need for those fake friends!

5. Settling for second best is not an option.

Never, ever settle. You're too wonderful, unique and perfect to not be truly happy in life.

6. Priorities, people!

Be sure to always make time for your friends, in the end they're the ones who will still be there for you.

7. Life's too short to let anything bring you down!

8. You can't always get what you want.

9. She certainly knew how to throw graceful shade.

10. She knows how to be the better person.

Being nice to people you don't like is not equivalent to being fake; it's simply taking the higher road and moving on. Just kill them with kindness!

11. Own up to your mistakes.

12. Be honest.

Sometimes, you really need to hear that tough advice. Always tell it like it is!

13. Forgive and forget.

This may be LC's most infamous advice ever, but, she's absolutely right. There's no need to keep toxic people in your life, forget the grudges and rid your life of the people who don't need to be there anymore.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
