11 Thoughts EVERYONE Has Before Their Last Semester Of College, As Told By Chandler, Joey And The Other 'Friends'

In This Article:

I am entering my last semester of college and I have had a lot of mixed emotions about it. Here are 11 "Friends" moments to represent the thoughts I've had about finally being finished with college.

Am I ever going to see my friends again?

College is a time to make new friends from all over. If you're like me, these have been the best friends you've ever made and it's hard to think about how you'll survive those sleepless nights or those long drives without them.

Am I going to find a job?

I've begun realizing jobs don't grow on trees and you have to have the experience to get a job, but you need a job to get experience. It's just a big cycle of confusion and stress.

Is anyone going to miss me when I am gone?

I have a lot of underclassmen friends that will still be at college when I graduate. It's a fear that sometimes they won't even notice when I've moved away — but little do they know I won't let them forget.

Does this mean I have to start a family soon?

Graduating college means you're getting older which means it's time to start a family. I think. In my head I know there's no rush, but there's still that internal worry.

I really am on my own now.

Everything my parents complained about me not doing or doing when I lived at home all makes sense now. The logical thinker in me has developed and now that I am on my own. My room is cleaner than when I lived at home, I pick up after myself and I care more about the things I own.

My parents would be surprised.

Was my degree worth all the money and sleepless nights?

Sometimes it feels like the information I receive isn't worth the thousands of dollars for the sheet of paper I get at the end of the four years. I know it is, but sometimes I'd just rather be asleep.

I admit I've skipped class one or two times to sleep in. The closer I get to graduation, the more I hope I didn't skip the *important* lectures I needed to go to pass the test. But sometimes the sleep is so worth it.

How many pets can I actually own before it's too much?

Graduating means you're going to have less time with your peers, so why not have pets? Pets are a great substitution for other humans. But how many is too many? The answer is there are never too many.

Am I old enough to be considered an adult?

https://giphy.com/gifs/friends-birthday-sad-12hdei...

Twenty-one years on this earth doesn't seem like enough time to be considered an adult and to make decisions for me. Who decided I could choose what healthcare plan is the right one for me? Or that I could raise a family and have others depend on me? This doesn't seem right.

Will I ever lose the freshman 15?

The "freshman 15" we all gained turned into the "senior 60" for some of us. I have that gym membership I haven't used yet, but all my motivation was sucked into school. I won't have any excuses after graduation, but I'm sure I'll find one.

College was scary, but the time after will be scarier. But I know it's all going to be okay.

Post-graduation will be scary, but just know you were able to get through the four years of college with only slightly losing your mind. Once you get the hang of this adult thing, it shouldn't be too hard, right?

10 Things Only Equestrians Understand

Yes, it IS a sport. Yes, I fall all the time. No, I do not ride in jeans with a cowgirl hat on.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.

Sometimes my brain just starts turning on an idea and it doesn't want to stop.

I don't know if it is related to my anxiety, perfectionism or depression. I don't know why it happens. It's frustrating, it's painful and it stops me from functioning.
