The Last of Us Part two was revealed last week at a playstation event. I was surprised the game was revealed at this event rather than E3 2017. The Last of Us is one of the best game i've ever played and it's easily one of the best games of all time. Naughty Dog is also one of the best gaming companies in the industry if not the best. They consistently put out excellent games with great graphics, story, and gameplay. Uncharted 4 is the best looking game on consoles ever in my opinion.
This was a brief teaser trailer but it raises some good questions. We get to see Ellie a few years older, she's playing the guitar throughout the trailer. She's covered in blood then we get to see all the dead bodies scattered throughout the house she's in. Ellie looks sad and angry at the same time. We also see a tattoo covering her bite from one of the infected. I'm excited to see Ellie to continue develop as a character. What made her such a great character was she only knew the world as a hopeless wasteland filled with infected people. The real world to her was nothing more than fantasy or a dream. In the first game she always was able to maintain a pretty positive attitude, but I have a feeling that might change in the sequel. Ellie seems like a person who's just had enough in this trailer. Joel doesn't show up until the last few seconds. Then we hear Ellie say "I'm going to kill every last one of them."
So who is Ellie talking about who are the people she has such hatred for. We saw in the last game certain factions that would do horrible things like the cannibals she got captured by. She was also almost sexually assaulted by the cannibals leader. So this world has established that there are horrible people living in it. That's another thing the game did so well, was show how all the good in humanity is just gone.
There could also be people coming after Joel for not allowing the fireflies to perform surgery on Ellie that could of found a cure. That's the next big question I have, did Ellie find out Joel lied to her at the end of the game. Will she find out Joel basically chose one life over potentially saving humanity. This trailer left the gamers with so many question but we won't find out answers until at least 2018, pending no delays.
Even though the Last of Us is one of my all time favorite games. I was never clamoring for a sequel because as a stand alone game, It's just so perfect. But I knew a sequel was inevitable. Plus this is Naughty Dog at the helm. I have full trust in them to make a great sequel.
