The Month Of April For A College Student As Told By "Shameless"

April in college.

For most of us, it is the last full month of the spring semester. It's also one of the most painful, dragged on, endless months of the year.

You have students trying to find out how they can get that 78 to a 98 while also skipping classes to catch up in other classes while also scheduling classes for next school year, and so on. It's like every other month of the school year except it's on drugs and no one has the energy anymore to keep up with it.

So, here are some common feelings we all experience during this never-ending month as told by our favorite family, the Gallaghers:

1. The thought of dropping out and becoming a stripper is even higher than usual.

They do make a lot of money...

2. When your professor gives you a bad grade on that one paper or exam you seriously needed a good grade on for the end of this class.

3. Your reaction when your professor assigns another wonderful paper for you to finish off the school year with.

4. How you feel during literally every moment, of every day, during every class.

Too real.

5. How you convince yourself to feel when you skip a class to get ahead in a different class. Again.

Even though, yes, it definitely is your problem.

6. When drinking your problems away sounds like an even better idea than it usually is.

But you decide it probably isn't. For now.

7. When you still have no idea what is going on in your class.

But your professor even slightly mentions the thought or option of extra credit at the end of the semester.

8. Hearing the words "The final will be cumulative."

Then what was the midterm for fam?

9. Taking exams you crammed for last-minute like:

Seems like the right choice every time.

10. Having a hard conversation with your semester fling.

We had fun but I have summer now.

11. When you're the last one at the library pulling an all-nighter.

12. And lastly, when we're trying to convince ourselves to do the homework and to study while at the same time wanting to drop out and sleep forever.

For real though.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
