So, USC students are two weeks out from move-in day and the start of a new semester is fast approaching. While I'm sure most of us are excited to go back to campus, there are things that we'll miss about our hometowns. But, if you can get these things out of your system before the tragic end of summer, you might feel a little more ready to take on the new school year.
1. See Your Friends
Make sure to see those friends you won't be living close to during the school year. Saying goodbye is hard, but the memory of one last epic movie marathon will get you through.
2. Go Out
If you like to get all dressed up, go out to one last fancy dinner before the world of sweatpants-clad all-nighters takes over.
3. Sleep In
Sleep in! Log those extra hours while you still can; there are no 8 am classes haunting you until you move back.
4. Fit In That Last Hair Appointment
You'll look superb for your first day and you won't have to worry about your mane until your next break.
5. Savor Your Parents' Cooking
You don't realize how much you'll miss it until you're eating your fourth pizza of the week.
6. Beach Trip
If you live near a body of water, squeeze in an end of summer beach trip! It'll give some quality time with your hometown friends and scratch that beach day itch that we all feel during the school year.
7. Burn All Your Candles
Enjoy those delightful aromas in your bedroom and leave them there. The fire safety people at your university will thank you for it.
8. Hang Out With Your Pets
If you don't have pets, hang out with your friends' pets. Major animal withdrawal is a real thing facing college students today.
9. Enjoy Being The Only One In Your Bedroom
(People who share a room, at least you'll be better adjusted) We all like having our own space, and when you move to college, that space is no longer your bedroom, so savor it while you can.
10. Visit Your Hometown Favorites
Last but not least, make one last visit to your favorite places in your hometown. If there's some special diner you love or a unique viewpoint you can't get anywhere else, stop by and say goodbye until Thanksgiving.
I hope by getting these fun things out of our systems, we'll all be a little more ready to face another year of school.
